“Boeing Boeing” is a very funny farce, set in the 1960’s, and the action takes place in Bernard’s apartment near Orly airport, Paris.

When it came out, this really funny farce was a smash hit at the Apollo Theatre where it ran for seven years and in 1991 it was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most performed French play throughout the world! It should be great fun for our cast, crew and audience alike.

Setting

Synopsis

Bernard has 3 fiancées, all air hostesses of different nationalities (American, Italian and German) who have different work schedules on international flights, thus coming and going on different days. They return to the apartment after each flight, where each one assumes it is their home and they are the only woman in Bernard’s life.

With the introduction of a faster aeroplane and bad weather, the flight schedules go awry and they all end up returning at the same time.

Bernard is visited by his friend Robert, who becomes embroiled in the ensuing chaos.

In the middle of all this is Bertha, the long-suffering housekeeper who, as events spiral out of control, decides she’s had enough and threatens to leave.

Owner of the apartment near Orly airport, Paris. He’s confident, charming, calculating in a ‘lovable rogue’ kind of way.

Robert Male

Bernard’s friend, somewhat innocent, has lived a quiet, rural/country life, who gets swept off his feet by the three lovely ladies, Gretchen in particular.
